Woohoo!
The ponies have moved from the Guilford barn, so I won't be spending all day, every day up there. Now they're all scattered – Duke, Cloud, and Spirit (palomino Quarter Horse, grey Anglo Arab, and buckskin Quarter Pony respectively) are at White Horse Farm, a little five-stall barn in Old Saybrook owned by this crazy old lady and inhabited by two ponies, Chocolate Chip and Peaches, and their horrible Hollister-wearing mommies Cathryn and Kelly, who haven't said one word to me yet, just stared and whispered to each other as I unloaded the horses and the entire truck by myself. Gabe and Delilah (Lippizan and tobiano Paint respectively) are living at Tina's house in Old Saybrook. The three Fjords, Rhoda, Ivy, and Zipper, have gone to Tina's mentor's barn (even though I think Rhoda is supposed to be sold to a therapeutic riding place called High Hopes). Eeyore and Polo, (who I think are TBs) are in Old Lyme; we'll go visit them three times a week until their mommy gets back from vacation. And Savannah, the 11-year-old Appaloosa, is happily munching on grass in a three-acre pasture in Killingworth. Yay for driving a lot.
BUT if my dad is nice to me we'll be fixing up my yard so Savannah can come live with us! Her pasture is only available for July, unfortunately, and she has nowhere else to go. I'm going to have to find the cheapest way to make a lean-to, and we'll have to clear a bunch of trees and maybe even level the ground a little... but I'm so excited! Apparently the fact that I've basically been living with Tina for the past month has proved to my parents that I'm commited to doing the work for a horse.
And of course I'm hoping that once we've had this setup for a year or two, I'll be able to get my own horse. Like a little black Shire colt. Hehe...
In other news, my foot's still yucky and painful and probably fractured or something. I can walk on it, but I've been limping for weeks now, and it hasn't fixed itself. Luckily I'm going to the orthopedist to get an xray and to see how bad it is. Hopefully I'm not permanently flawed. xD I'm really ready to walk normally again, haha. This whole injury thing made my trip to Martha's Vineyard this week less than perfect.
Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. :)
